October is finally here! So begins the Holiday Season! I’m not really one for horror novels, but I definitely enjoy some dark fantasy when the cooler months arrive. Currently, I am finishing up Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas. I will have a review up for it very soon. I plan to read the second book in The Raven Cycle series, The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater. I enjoyed the first book, but not as much as I would have liked. I definitely don’t think it lived up to all the hype surrounding it, but I am not giving up hope for the rest of the quartet. I also want to listen to Harry Potter and the Chamber if Secrets, which I am borrowing from the library, but that might have to go on next month’s TBR because I am currently in 30th place for the holds on the audiobook. I also plan on reading Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab. I’ve been holding on to that one just so I can read it during October. I really love Schwab’s writing and I am very excited to finish out this Duology! If I end up having time at the end of the month, I want to get to Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. I have been slowly making my way through all of the Shadowhunter books in publication order and Lady Midnight is next on my list! It is a very large book, which is quite intimidating, but then again so is Tower of Dawn (although my ToD copy is paperback and my LM copy is hardback, so the physical size difference may be playing a part in that fear 😆).
